Lake Travis is one of the Highland Lakes, a chain of six lakes created by dams in the Texas Colorado River. The largest and clearest of the lakes, it is strikingly beautiful with it's limestone cliffs and bright aquamarine water. There are many options for storing,docking and launching your boat. The three marinas in Lakeway are Hurst Harbor Marina, Lakeway Marina and Rough Hollow Marina and Yacht Club.

Other marinas close by are Emerald Point, Lake Travis Marina, West Beach Marina, and Paradise Cove.

Many private homes along the lakeshore have their own docks, and there are several waterfront communities that offer marina facilities to their homeowners.

Overlooking the shores of Lake Travis is the newly renovated Lakeway Resort and Spa with 168 lake view rooms, full service spa and fitness center, restaurants, bar, and an enormous glass walled ballroom.
