If you move to Lakeway you will join a community where education is given the highest priority.  Gifted programs are available at all grade levels, and college advanced placement courses are offered at the high school level. Many extracurricular activities, including more than 35 student clubs and organizations and a strong interscholastic athletic program round out the high school experience.
 
The largest public university in the United States,The University of Texas at Austin, is located just 30 minutes away in downtown Austin. In addition, many excellent academic institutions, including St. Edward's and Texas State Universities, are within a 1-hour drive.
 
Lake Travis ISD was formed on June 12, 1981. At that time, 541 students were enrolled in grades K - 12. Since then, the enrollment of the LTISD has increased to more than 5,500 students and facilities to include:

LTISD Mission Statement

The mission of the Lake Travis Independent School District is to educate all students by teaching a comprehensive curriculum which emphasizes scholastic excellence.
The district will serve as a model of educational excellence by making use of the combined skills of students, teachers, support staff, involved parents and citizens through the efficient use of resources.
